Enviroware is actively involved in promoting business opportunities and technical training to historically disadvantaged communities. It does this through sub-contracting and joint ventures with black owned contractors. Enviroware embodies the principles of BEE by virtue of the main shareholder Mr. Patrick Leong, a previously disadvantaged individual himself, who is committed to developing long-term relationships with SME BEE companies.
Enviroware has implemented a number of programs to ensure a better skilled and more representative workforce. The company invests a percentage of income in on-going training whereby it monitors each staff member’s progress in terms of the legal requirements from SETA. Enviroware places great importance on its Social Upliftment Policy. One example of this ethic is the Ithembe Village of Hope project in which all equipment, labour and engineering services were provided free of charge. The village, situated in Johannesburg is dedicated to AIDS orphans.
